2018 Season Review

College Farm Stables had a slow start to the 2018 season but Mr. Trevor Milner’s 4yo gelding Drop Kick Murphi by Sir Prancealot(IRE) ex Rindiseyda(IRL) set the ball rolling when winning a 6 furlong handicap at Nottingham in May at the attractive odds of 33/1.

July saw Mr Andy Machin’s filly Agent Of Fortune by Kheleyf(USA) ex Royal Bloom (IRE) winning her maiden, a 7f handicap at Gt.Yarmouth at 12/1 with Mr Francis Butler’s Shyjack 40/1 a Shd runner up.

Later that month the Boss, Mrs Dunnett, returned to Yarmouth with her own Percy Toplis by Kheleyf (USA) ex West Lorne (USA) to take the 1 mile handicap at 25/1

August saw the new arrival Kraka a gelding by Dark Angel (IRL) ex Manuelita Rose(ITY) owned by the partners of Team Kraka, duly take the 6f Median Auction stakes on his first attempt for the stable at 12/1

Team Kraka enjoy their win

On a momentous occasion in October Mr Andy Machin’s Agent Of Fortune returned to Yarmouth fittingly to take the Peter Dunnett 20 Year Memorial Handicap sponsored by the Boss Mrs Dunnett at 20/1. Celebrations took a very emotional turn, not many without a tear in their eye.

November came with a 3rd win for Mr Andy Machin’s Agent Of Fortune this time in in a 7f handicap at Chelmsford.

A week later saw her run an excellent race carrying top weight at Kempton only to find one too good for her on the day with the rest of the 12 strong field strung out behind her.

Meanwhile that same evening owners Machin, Milner, Sparkes and Dunnett saw their 3yo filly Hidden Dream appear out of the mist at the furlong pole some two lengths clear of the chasing group to win easing up at Chelmsford having previously finished 2nd to Night King (who went on to win his next race OR 70)

2018 flat season saw Christine Dunnett Racing score 7 wins and a remarkable 19 places from only 103 runners.

An assessment of the 2019 flat season with horses to follow will appear in our next addition of Christine Dunnett Racing News Letter.
