End of the Turf Season

On the afternoon of the 31st October the team were busy at the sales with some horses sadly leaving (Agent of Fortune, Catalogue and Hidden Dream) and some exciting new yearlings arriving.

The evening saw Drop Kick Murphi (Murphi) start only his second race of the season at Kempton.

Whilst pawing the ground in anticipation he missed the break and was last out of the stalls.

The rest broke quickly, Murphi struggling to stay with them, and at one stage looked completely outpaced.

Still out the back as the rest struck for home it looked all over for Murphi but with less than a furlong to go he began to pick up the pace passing everything except the winner which he failed by a neck to catch on the line.

An excellent result when you consider it was only DKM’s second race after nearly a year off.

We look for a similar race on the all weather surface in which to take advantage of his lowly mark.
