Another good week !

After almost forgetting to mention my boy Ziggy, he duly obliged with a nice win under a great ride from Adam Kirby at Wolves on Thursday.    Well done team.   The week has been ok with another good run from our P Pete to finish 2nd again at Chelmsford, his turn to win cannot be far away and the trip down to Kempton after with Danzoe was almost a success, slight “error” by the young joc on board which meant we lost 3rd place, but up to that point he had given Dan a good ride.  For the lads error he did obtain a 10 day suspension and I do not think he will be dropping his hands short of the line again!!

The week was rounded up with good and bad news. The good news, our 3rd foal was born on Friday evening, a smashing filly by Society Rock out of Lifes a Whirl, mum and daughter doing well and have been able to enjoy some warmer weather out in the paddock.  The other 3 cannot be far away!!! now well overdue and looking fit to burst!!

Our bad news was our lovely filly”Phoebe” suffered a hair line fracture through her fetlock.  Unfortunately it now looks like she will not be seeing the racetrack anytime soon.  It should heal well with plenty of box rest and splint bandages.  Hopefully she will be back for the winter 2015 jump season.   I have to say that all great horses usually have  a sob story to tell somewhere along the line !!

We are all buzzing at the moment, all the horses are running well and working well on the gallops in prep for their races.  This week should see a couple of new faces this year,  Queenie, (Baileys Pursuit) should make her 3yo debut at Chelmsford City on Thursday, she is looking good at home so I hope she likes Chelmsford.  The other is Satin Waters, having her first run for us.  She is destined for a hurdling career and has been schooling well over the obstacles but we will give her a run on the flat first to see how she settles in her races.  Harry (Arryzona) may also head back to Chelmsford to see if he can put up a better show than last time.  He works so well on the gallops it is very frustrating!!  1m 6f may be stretching him somewhat but would just be nice to see him get amongst runners and race!!

Friday could see Danzoe and Happydoingnothing head back to Wolverhampton, another late meeting and Saturday could see us at Lingfield with P Pete and/or Wolverhampton with Harry if he doesn’t go on Thursday!  Oh and I am sure there will be a foal or two in the middle of that lot somewhere!!

Warden Warren has settled in well back on the paddocks at the gallops with his old mate G N D .

CONGRATULATIONS to the winners of our FIVE TO FOLLOW competition,  This finished on the 31st March and resulted in a 3 way tie.  Winners were Mary Peck,  Andy Machin and Mike Clements.  Well done to all three, and thank you to everyone who took part.

The new competition should now be underway and I will be posting entry forms and will try and arrange for forms to be downloaded off this site?   This year we have more horses to choose which should make the competition a little more competitive.

Green shoots everywhere with longer days, Spring really is now springing into action and so are my horses!!
